Hello Dallas Magic World!

Welcome to the Dallas Magic Clubs — Where Big D’s Wonder Never Left

Dallas has been “doing it big” in magic for over a century. Today’s Dallas Magic Clubs (yes, plural) bring two storied organizations under one friendly roof: the Dallas Magic Circle (S.A.M. Assembly 13), founded in 1924, and Willard the Wizard (I.B.M. Ring 174), chartered in 1964. They meet together, share officers, and work as one community to advance the art, ethics, and joy of magic in North Texas. (Dallas Magic)

Two clubs, one community

From the beginning, both clubs have emphasized camaraderie and craft: promoting harmony among magicians, discouraging exposure of secrets and misleading advertising, and supporting humane treatment of animals in performance. That spirit still guides meetings, shows, and mentoring today. (Dallas Magic)

A charter signed by Houdini? Believe it.

One of our proudest historical keepsakes is the original S.A.M. Assembly 13 charter signed by Harry Houdini—a tangible link to magic’s most famous name. When the Circle was installed as Assembly 13 on October 4, 1924, Houdini himself was in Dallas performing at the State Fair and personally conducted the installation at the Adolphus Hotel. If you love magic history, that detail alone is worth a grin. (Dallas Magic)

The Willard legacy

Our I.B.M. Ring honors Texas legend Willard the Wizard and preserves artifacts from his act, including his wand and the coin pail he used onstage—real working tools from a true road-show wizard. These treasures have been lovingly safeguarded by members and remain a point of pride for our club and the broader magic community. (Dallas Magic)

Not just history—real, live magic

We’re more than a museum piece. Newcomers, hobbyists, and working pros gather to swap ideas, test material, and help one another get better. Whether you’re polishing a double-lift, building a stage illusion, or just curious how to start, you’ll find friendly faces and practical help here. And if you’ve never attended a magic club meeting before, don’t worry—we love first-timers and families.

Where we meet:
The Drawing Board, 1900 Jay Ell Drive (Seminar Area), Richardson, TX 75081. (Dallas Magic)

When we meet:
Check the Event Calendar before you come so you’ll catch lectures, jam nights, and special programs. (Dallas Magic)
